Dental therapists are registered dental care professionals. The profession can be traced back to 1917 where at the time during WW1 there was a shortage of dentists. In response to this shortage the first version of the profession was created to cover general, simple aspects of dentistry.
Our dental therapist studied at the University of Birmingham and trained at the state of the art Birmingham Dental Hospital and gained a Bsc in Dental Hygiene and Therapy. You may either be referred to our therapist for treatment by your dentist, or you may see her directly for treatments that are within the scope of practice.
